Following a noticeable dip in coronavirus cases, the government has allowed the marriage halls to reopen in Punjab with the adoption strict SoPs.
The Punjab Cabinet, which met yesterday with Chief Minister Sardar Usman in the chair, approved the proposal for reopening of wedding halls under strict SoPs. The provincial government has issued a notification, announcing reopening of marriage halls across the province from Tuesday.
The government has directed management of marriage halls to strictly adhere to coronavirus precautionary measures such as wearing facemasks and social distancing during ceremonies.
According to notification the marriage halls can host guests up to 50 percent of the capacity with observing safety SOPs. Sanitizers to the guests will be provided by the owners of marriage halls at entry points.
The notification read that staff of marriage halls will be tested for coronavirus before the reopening of marriage halls and management of marriage halls will use thermal guns to check temperature of guests.
No ceremony would be allowed at marriage halls after 10pm, the notification adds.
