LONDON – Pakistani mangoes take the spotlight at London’s Mango Mania Event held at the Pakistan High Commission.
The event was marked to celebrate the start of Pakistan’s signature mango season and showcased the country’s rich agricultural heritage. Dr. Mohammad Faisal, in his opening remarks, described Pakistani mangoes as a symbol of the nation’s vibrant, flavorful, and life-affirming essence.
The event was inaugurated by Lord Wajid Khan, Parliamentary-Under Secretary of State in the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, and Afzal Khan MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Pakistan-Britain Trade & Tourism.
The ceremony was attended by a diverse audience, including British friends of Pakistan, diplomats, notable personalities from the Pakistani diaspora, and media representatives. Guests were treated to an array of fresh Pakistani mangoes and mango-based delicacies such as custards, trifles, pastries, and cakes.
The attendees were in love for unmatched sweetness and aroma of the mangoes, which have earned their reputation as the “King of Fruits.” With over 200 varieties, including the renowned Chaunsa, Sindhri, Lal Badshah, Fajri, and Anwar Ratol, Pakistani mangoes are celebrated globally and continue to be a source of national pride.
