In wake of Eid-u-Azha cleanliness operation, Lahore Waste Management Company conducted an awareness seminar. Chief Guest of the seminar was Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar, whereas Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal, Managing Director LWMC ShahzaibHasnain, Deputy Managing Director LWMC Mr. Tariq Hussain Bhatti, Dr. Zarfishan Tahir, and others participated in the seminar.
Speaking on the occasion the governor stated that by maintaining cleanliness we can defeat most of the diseases especially Covid-19, he added that citizens must cooperate with LWMC by properly disposing of animal waste and offals. Provincial Minister for industries and trade Mian Aslam Iqbal stated that Cleanliness is half of our faith and all those people who can afford to sacrifice must perform this religious ritual but following the SOPs.
Managing Director LWMC Shahzaib Hasnain stated that the department is working tirelessly to serve the public and making unprecedented arrangements for upcoming Eid\out of the distribution of 1.7 million bio degradable waste bags, installation of 293 union council camps, 18 model camps, engaging an additional 3400 pickups for prompt waste lifting. During his concluding remarks MD LWMC appealed the citizens for their apt cooperation with the department and shared LWMC helpline 1139 and mobile-based application clean Lahore for any waste-related complaint.
LWMC MD PAYS SURPRISE VISIT TO CITY: Lahore Waste Management Company Managing Director Shahzaib Hasnain paid a surprise visit to multiple areas of the city late at night. The MD monitored LWMC night operations of mechanical sweeping and washing. GM Operations Sohail Anwar Malik was also called in the field.
The GM briefed the MD regarding department night operations and its working mechanism. The MD directed to further improve the cleanliness situation of the city and emphasized to strictly follow the roster of night mechanical sweeping and washing and negligence will not be tolerated at any cost. MD LWMC also monitored desilting operations at Anaarkali Bazaar. He visited Jail Road, China Chowk, Mall Road, Lakshmi Chowk and other areas of the city. MD LWMC said that the department was formed to serve the public and we will make sure that citizens get facilitated.
