The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued a written verdict against Patwaris of Punjab, including Lahore.
The court ordered immediate shifting of Patwaris from all over Punjab from private buildings to government buildings.
Apart from that the written decision directed the DG Anti-Corruption to register cases against Patwaris working with the help of private peoples.
We must not forget that the image of Pakistan in the world can only be improved by establishing transparency and putting up resistance against corruption as a part of our culture. Justice Chaudhry Abdul Aziz issued a six-page written verdict.
It was said in the verdict that it is with great sadness that it is because of such cases that Pakistan is among the top countries in terms of corruption.
The court directed the senior member Board of Revenue not to allow any private person to work in the revenue circle in future.
If any Patwari is found involved in future, DG Anti-Corruption should take action against him.
If anyone, including DC, is involved in appointing a private servant with Patwari, then DG should take anti-corruption action.
In this case, notices were issued to the Senior Member Board of Revenue and Assistant Collector, Deputy Collector and Commissioner Bahawalpur. All the officers had nothing to speak about
The court granted bail to Patwari Rafiq Ahmed. The court granted bail to Patwari in exchange for bail bonds of Rs. 200,000.
