The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) recovered more than Rs 7.39 million from 298 chronic defaulters in all its five districts – Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Kasur and Okara – on the 199th day of its recovery campaign.
A LESCO spokesman told the media here on Wednesday that SE (Superintending Engineer) Nisar Sarwar recovered dues of Rs 0.66 million from 35 defaulters in Northern Circle; SE Umar Bilal recovered Rs 0.91 million from 60 defaulters in Eastern Circle; SE Shabbir recovered Rs 0.63 million from 18 defaulters in Central Circle; SE Zafarullah Saanghi collected Rs 0.14 million from 26 defaulters in South Circle; SE Muhammad Hussain recovered Rs 0.49 million from 27 defaulters in Nankana Circle; SE Najamul Hassan recovered Rs 3.08 million from 80 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle; SE Jamshed Zaman collected Rs 0.50 million from 27 defaulters in Okara Circle and SE Ahmed Shahzad Chughtai recovered Rs 0.98 million from 25 defaulters in Kasur Circle.
During the 199 days, the spokesman added that the LESCO has recovered a total of Rs 2.86 billion outstanding dues from 99,673 dead defaulters. He elaborated that uptill now the company has collected Rs 422.76 million from 14,493 defaulters in Northern Circle; Rs 670.18 million from 12,874 defaulters in Eastern Circle; Rs 379.28 million.
