Governor Punjab Muhammad BalighurRehman has said that Pakistan’s friendly relations with Russia are getting stronger with each passing moment.
He was talking to the Ambassador of Russia to Pakistan, Albert Khorev who called on him at at the Governor’s House, Lahore on Wednesday and discussed with him the ways to enhance mutual cooperation in various fields.
Muhammad BalighurRehman expressed deep sorrow and regret over the loss of over 140 precious lives in a recent terrorist attack in Russia. He said that the two countries need to further strengthen trade and economic ties. Governor Punjab said that education partnership should be a priority area for both countries. The Governor underscored the need to work together on joint projects to highlight the cultural heritage between the two countries. He said that there was great scope of investment in the fields of agriculture and agricultural research in Pakistan.
He also lauded the initiative of establishment of “Russian Language Center” in Punjab University.
Speaking on the occasion, Russian Ambassador, Mr. Albert Khorev said that Pakistan and Russia have excellent and cordial relations. He said that Russia wants to further strengthen trade relations between the two countries in trade, culture and other fields. Muhammad BalighurRehman said that every country must play its role in creating an environment of peace and harmony in the world.
