Leeds United winger Helder Costa will miss the final four games of the Premier League season with a back problem, club manager Marcelo Bielsa said Thursday.
The Portuguese star missed last week’s 2-0 defeat at Brighton due to a back problem suffered during Leeds’ recent draw against Manchester United.
“He won’t be able to compete again this season,” said Bielsa, who added that both Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha are doubtful for Saturday’s home game with Tottenham.
Costa, who has started 13 league games for Leeds this season, was hurt in a challenge with Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka and was forced off midway through the second half of a goalless draw at Elland Road on April 25.
Meanwhile, Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has revealed his family were scared by his weight loss after he contracted malaria while on international duty in March.
The Gabon forward missed four games following the diagnosis after a feeling of lethargy left him questioning the cause.
He returned off the bench in the Europa League semifinal first-leg defeat by Villarreal last week and is in line to start the return game, having scored in Sunday’s Premier League win at Newcastle.
