LDA demolishes/seals 32 illegal commercial buildings in Lahore

LAHORE – The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) continued operation against violation of building bylaws and illegal commercial use in Lahore.

On Wednesday, LDA teams sealed 28 properties and partially demolished four structures during operations in Allama Iqbal Town, Sabzazar, Johar Town, Gujjarpura and Timber Market.

LDA team sealed 19 properties in Allama Iqbal Town and Sabzazar and another nine in Johar Town for non-payment of commercial fees. The sealed properties include private offices, schools, grocery stores, medical stores and shops.

LDA team partially demolished three buildings in Timber Market and shops in Gujjarpura for violation of bylaws.

Chief Town Planner-I Asad Uz Zaman supervised the operations which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of heavy machinery and Police. As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to these buildings’ owners before carrying out the operations.

LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of building bylaws and illegal commercial use in Lahore.
