Lahore, Punjab weather update; smog continues to persist

LAHORE–Smog/fog will continue to prevail in Lahore and plains of Punjab on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.

As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, cold and dry weather will likely prevail in Lahore and most districts of Punjab on Thursday night, Friday and Saturday.

Lahore’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 11-13°C on Friday and Saturday.

Smog will continue to prevail in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Okara, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Multan, Khanewal, Rahim Yar Khan and Dera Ghazi Khan. Fog of varying intensities will likely prevail in plains during morning/night hours.

Meanwhile, smog/fog prevailed in Lahore and most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

As per the data collected from IQAir website at 07:26 pm, Lahore is the third most polluted city in the world with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 220. Mongolia’s Ulaanbaatar and India’s Delhi lead the list with an AQI of 226.

Cold and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and most districts of Punjab. Murree remained the coldest place where the minimum temperature was recorded at 05°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 58 per cent.

In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 12°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 50 per cent.
