Lahore, Punjab weather update; rain, hailstorm predicted

LAHORE – The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted significant rains and isolated hailstorms in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday and Friday.
As per the synoptic situation, a westerly wave prevails over most parts of Balochistan. It will likely grip upper parts of Pakistan on Thursday.
Under the influence of these conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are expected in Pothohar region, Murree, Galyat, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar on Wednesday night. Dry weather is expected elsewhere in the province.
On Thursday and Friday, rain-wind/thunderstorms and isolated hailstorms are expected in Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Kot Addu, Muzaffargarh, Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Bahawalnagar.
Lahore’s maximum temperatures will remain between 30-32 degrees Celsius on Thursday and 28-30 C on Friday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.
Sargodha remained the hottest place in the province where maximum temperature was recorded at 36 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 39 per cent.
In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 34 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 20 per cent.
