Lahore, Punjab weather update; more monsoon rains, heavy falls expected

LAHORE – More monsoon rains with isolated heavy falls are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Monday night, Tuesday and Wednesday with occasional gaps.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea penetrate southern & eastern parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave prevails over upper parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, monsoon rains are expected in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal and Jhelum on Monday night.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, more intermittent monsoon rains are expected in Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Kasur, Lahore, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Murree, Galliyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Layyah, Khusab, Bahawalpur, Multan, Taunsa and Dera Ghazi Khan. Heavy fall may also occur at isolated places in Potohar region.

Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34-36°C on Tuesday and 35-37°C on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, scattered rains occurred in Lahore and parts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

In Lahore, maximum temperature was recorded at 35°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 82 per cent.
