Lahore police vow to ensure strict security for HBL PSL 9

LAHORE -Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Wednesday reaffirmed the commitment of the law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of the public during the upcoming HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 9.

The DIG mentioned the proactive steps being taken to guarantee the smooth conduct of the PSL Season 9 matches and to maintain peace in the city.

He emphasized the implementation of robust security measures, including search and sweep operations across various areas, including cricket venues, routes, and Gaddafi Stadium.

During the preceding month, Lahore Police’s Operations Wing conducted 119 search operations across different neighborhoods of the city. These operations involved thorough checks of 3,660 residences, encompassing scrutiny of 12,291 individuals. Legal actions were taken against 51 individuals found involved in criminal activities. Furthermore, 2,096 tenants were screened, and 41 individuals failing to register as tenants were apprehended.

DIG Rizvi directed all divisional SPs to personally oversee the ongoing search and sweep operations within their respective jurisdictions, ensuring comprehensive coverage and effective enforcement of security protocols.
