LAHORE – Suzuki Alto, one of the most-selling passenger cars with below 1000cc engine capacity in Pakistan, has recorded a significant increase in its sales in January 2024 on month-on-month and yearly basis.

Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) has released a report on sales of vehicles in the outgoing month. The increase in Alto’s sales helped Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company registered gains despite shutting down the plant for multiple times.

As many as 2,983 units of Suzuki Alto were sold last month compared to just 44 during same period of the previous year.

However, the sale of number of units is also higher on month-on-month basis as the company had sold 2,099 units of Alto in December 2023.

Overall, the sale of Suzuki Alto in first seven months of the fiscal year 2023-24 has dropped as compared to same period of the previous year.

The Japanese company sold 16,383 units in running fiscal year while the sale in the previous fiscal year was stood at 27,658.

Suzuki Alto remained among most selling hatchbacks in Pakistan as a lot of commuters buy the car due to its reliability, low-cost maintenance and good resale value.

The 660cc car is said to be perfect vehicle for daily commute, and is touted as common man’s car, despite the price of its top variant hovering around Rs3 million.

Suzuki Alto VX costs Rs2,251,000, price of Alto VXR stands at Rs2,612,000, while Alto VXR AGS at Rs2,799,000 and Alto AGS at Rs2,935,000.
