The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) held a grand flag hoisting ceremony at the MD Secretariat to celebrate Independence Day. The event was led by CEO Engineer Syed Salahuddin Ahmed and COO Engineer Asadullah Khan. The ceremony commenced with a recitation of the Holy Quran by QariAtiq Ur Rehman, followed by a naat in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recited by Ameen Ahmed.
The national flag was unfurled to officially start the proceedings, accompanied by special prayers for the country’s progress and security, as well as renditions of the national anthem. In his address, CEO Syed Salahuddin Ahmed congratulated the nation on Independence Day and highlighted KWSC’s dedication to celebrating this significant occasion.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan Army soldiers and announced a new initiative aimed at enhancing water supply and sewerage services for Karachi’s residents. Ahmed noted that KWSC’s recent achievements include improved public services over the past year and growing interest from international companies.
He emphasized KWSC’s commitment to providing reliable water and sewerage services despite challenges and limited resources. The organization is working to ensure clean and quality water for every resident and to upgrade the sewage system.
Ahmed stressed the importance of unity in addressing the city’s and country’s challenges and called for collective effort in the development and prosperity of Karachi. Additionally, the CEO launched a tree planting campaign as part of KWSC’s commitment to environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation. The ceremony was attended by KWSC officials and employees, including Muhammad Saqib, Syed Imran Zaidi, NizamuddinShaikh, Syed Sardar Shah, and many others, who all joined in patriotic slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad.”
