Chief Minister KP, Mahmood Khan on Saturday said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa became the first province to establish its own Water Resources Regulatory Authority for better management of water resources.
In a statement, the Chief Minister said that the KP once again had taken the lead and become the first province to have Water Resource Commission and Water Resources Regulatory Authority under Water Act aimed at better and efficient management of water resources with a holistic approach.
He said that the provincial government was fully committed to ensure the judicious use and preservation of water resources of the province.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has given additional charge to Secretary Irrigation Department to work as Director General-cum-Secretary of KP Water Resources Commission.
The official notification issued by the Establishment Division said, in order to operationalize Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Water Resources Commission, the competent authority is please to assign additional charge of the post of Director General-cum-Secretary of the Water Resources Commission to Secretary Irrigation Department with immediate effect till appointment/posting of regular Director General.
