KP to always welcome foreign investment for development of province: Azam

Caretaker Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Azam Khan has said that the provincial government will always welcome foreign investment for the development of the province and wellbeing of its people; and will extend all possible support to foreign investors willing to invest here.

He has said that since the province has suffered a lot due to regional issues prevailing for the last so many decades, and as such it needs more and more investment specially in the field of Science & Technology and Information Technology; and there is a lot of scope for foreign investment in these sectors in the province adding that the overall environment for foreign investment is also conducive in the province.

He was talking to a delegation of US-based private investor firms who called on him here on Wednesday and discussed with him matters related to investment in various sectors in the province. Caretaker Provincial Minister for ST & IT, Dr. Najeebullah and other relevant authorities were also present on the occasion.

It was informed on the occasion that TRAM- a US-based investment firm has agreed to invest in a fund worth 100 million US dollar for the development and growth of startups and growing companies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; and anMoU to this effect has already been signed between the department of ST & IT and TRAM.

It was further told that the investment will be deployed across a range of sectors including Information Technology, Fin-Tech, Bio-Tech and Artificial Intelligence. Similarly, the department of ST&IT has inked an MoU with another US- based company-TINGO with the aim of rolling out its proven business model in the region, and accelerate digital transformation; it was further told and added that, through the MoU, both the parties are committed to collaborating on various initiatives that will enhance digital infrastructure, foster entrepreneurship, and promote technology-driven solutions.

The Chief Minister thanked the delegates for their investment in the province, and assured them all out support of his government to make the initiative successful and beneficial to both the parties.
