LAHORE – Five police officials were held accountable for security lapse in the Bisham attack in which five people including four Chinese engineers were killed.
Pakistan launched high-level probe as Chinese engineers were killed while traveling between Islamabad and a hydroelectric dam construction site in Dasu.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said PM Shehbaz Sharif instructed action against senior police officers for their negligence following an inquiry report on the Shangla district attack that resulted in the deaths of five Chinese nationals.
In a press conference, the minister said the government formed an inquiry committee to investigate the attack on a vehicle carrying Chinese engineers to the Dasu Hydropower Project. Those who face action include the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Hazara Division, district police officers of Upper Kohistan and Lower Kohistan; the director of security at Dasu Hydropower Project; and the commandant of the special security unit of KP.
