LAHORE- Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader Khawaja Saad Rafique invited Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to form a coalition government.
“No party has a majority in the current National Assembly, so PTI and PPP can form the government,” said Khawaja Saad Rafiq in a statement.
He stated that the responsibility of forming the federal government did not lie only with the PML-N but with all political parties.
“The PTI-backed Independents should take initiative and form a coalition government with the PPP,” he said, adding that the PML-N would congratulate both PTI and the PPP if they formed the government.
The PML-N took a backtrack from its previous stance of forming the government in the center.
The sources within the PML-N said that in a meeting with Nawaz Sharif in the chair was suggested that they should not form a federal government.
Nawaz Sharif, the sources said, was also suggested that the PML-N along with the independents can easily form a government in Punjab, so they should only focus Punjab.
They said that Nawaz Sharif was of the view that the suggestion of any allied party should not be accepted for forming a federal government in the center.
Some participants said that the only purpose of forming the federal government is that the country is in economic crisis, the state needed to be saved.
Recently, the PML-N, PPP, MQM, and other ally parties in the center announced the formation of a government together.
In the National Assembly, the independent are 92, PML-N has 79 seats, PPP 54, MQM-P 17, PML-Q 3, IPP 2, and BAP secured one seat.
Nawaz Sharif had nominated Shahbaz Sharif as the candidate for Prime Minister office from the side of the PML-N.
