LAHORE – A man, who allegedly made the plan to honey-trap prominent writer Khalilur Rehman Qamar, claimed that he has multiple obscene videos of the playwright.
Police have arrested the mastermind identified as Hasan Shah and an accomplice Rafiq from Peshawar, the capital city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
Shah is the leader of the 12-member gang, which also include women.
In a statement recorded to the police by the accused Hasan Shah, he said Khalilur Rehman Qamar went to the woman’s house not for discussing the script but with bad intent.
He said the writer made a fuss about his abduction due to inappropriate videos. A total of 12 suspects, including the woman, have been arrested by police so far.
Last week, Qamar appeared in a podcast where he disclosed that the abductors mentioned Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar.
“Initially I didn’t want to lodge complaint for the FIR just because the abductors had mentioned Nauman Ijaz and Saba Qamar behind my abduction,” said the playwright during a podcast on Thursday .
Qamar said that he hated Nauman Ijaz but he is a great actor while Saba Qamar is also an amazing actress despite that he had many differences with her.
“These are not the people who could do such thing,” said the drama writer.
He revealed that the abductors by mentioning the said actors wanted to indulge into mental agony and pressurize him during that incident.
