DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed termed criticism and negative narratives against army on social media as digital terrorism. He questioned lack of action against individuals spreading false information and propaganda against state leadership and institutions.

Lt Gen Sharif accused an unnamed “very strong lobby” of trying to make the operation controversial for financial gains and vested interests. If properly implemented, the operation would eliminate terrorism and lead to societal and national uplift.
TTP Chief’s Alleged Audio Leak
Lt Gen Sharif criticized notorious TTP’s actions and narratives, asserting they would be addressed appropriately to ensure stability.

He said army’s top brass expressed concern over unwarranted criticism and misrepresentation of Azm-i-Istehkam.
Bannu Rally Violence
ISPR chief explained the violence during a peace rally in Bannu, where armed protesters attacked the cantonment, and the army’s response followed standard procedures.
He stressed that controlling riots and maintaining law and order is the provincial government’s responsibility, not the military’s.
Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) Sit-in
He addressed the recent TLP sit-in in Islamabad, emphasizing efforts to resolve the issue through dialogue without violence. He denied military involvement in bringing TLP to the sit-in and criticized the spread of fake news and propaganda.
May 9 Riots
Responding to a question, he said events like May 9 are not hidden or obscure, and the public witnessed everything. Lt Gen Ahmed Sharid said if you do not hold these individuals or groups accountable for planning events like May 9, the threat of fascism will intensify.
