The Karachi Council on Foreign Relations (KCFR) has joined hands with the Consulate General of France and Alliance Française Karachi to foster a research-driven culture in Pakistan. The collaboration features a presentation by Christophe Jaffrelot, which explores the historical, cultural, and spiritual importance of Kartarpur Sahib and Ajmer Sharif—two prominent religious and cultural sites for Muslims and Sikhs.

These sacred sites, central to the beliefs of both communities, have long been significant hubs for pilgrimage. They represent powerful symbols of interfaith harmony, bringing together diverse cultures and faiths. Jaffrelot’s research emphasizes the pivotal roles these locations play in fostering cultural symbiosis and diversity, while also promoting understanding across national borders.

The presentation and research are in line with KCFR’s broader strategy to stimulate intellectual curiosity and academic dialogue in Pakistan. By deepening the understanding of regional history and cultural dynamics, the initiative aims to inspire scholarly inquiry and cultivate a richer cultural discourse within the country.
