KARACHI – Karachi sizzled at 40°C as mainly hot and humid weather prevailed in coastal areas of Sindh on Wednesday.
Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. Maximum temperature in Dadu was recorded at 46°C, Khairpur at 45°C, Nawabashah and Mohenjo-Daro at 44°C, Sukkur at 43°C and Hyderabad at 42°C.
Frequent outages added to the woes of heat-stricken people in Karachi, Hyderabad and most districts of Sindh.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moist currents from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal penetrate southern and central parts of Pakistan and likely to enter upper parts on Thursday evening/night.
Under these weather conditions, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most districts of Sindh on Wednesday evening/night and Thursday. Hot and humid weather is expected in Karachi and coastal areas of the province.
However, windstorm/thunderstorm with isolated rain is expected in Mithi, Umar Kot, Thar Parkar, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Padidan.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40-42°C on Thursday and 38-40°C on Friday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 42-44°C on Thursday and 40-42°C on Friday.
