Karachi, Hyderabad, Sindh weather update; rains, gusty winds predicted

KARACHI – Rain-wind/thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls are predicted in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Monday and Tuesday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moderate monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/eastern parts of Pakistan. They will likely spread to central/southern parts of the country from July 29.

Under these weather conditions, rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar and Mirpurkhas on Sunday night.

On Monday and Tuesday, rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Mithi, Thatta, Badin, Sajawal, Karachi, Jamshoro, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Khairpur, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu. Isolated heavy falls may also occur during the period.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 33-35°C on Monday and 36-38°C on Tuesday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 40-42°C on Monday and 39-41°C on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather prevailed in most districts of the province during the last 24 hours.

Sukkur remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42°C. Maximum temperature in Dadu and Mohenjo-Daro was recorded at 41°C, and Nawabshah at 39°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 79 per cent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 75 per cent.
