KARACHI – More intermittent rains with scattered heavy and isolated very heavy falls are expected in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal penetrate the southern/central parts of Pakistan. They will likely affect the upper parts from Friday (evening/night). A westerly wave will likely affect northern parts of the country from tonight.
Under these conditions, more intermittent rains with scattered heavy and isolated very heavy falls are expected in Mithi, Sanghar, Umer Kot, Tharparker, Mirpur Khas, Khairpur, Mityari, Nausheroferoze, Jamshoro, Thatta, Badin, Chhor, Padidan, Sajawal, Karachi, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad and Dadu on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Karachi and low-lying areas of Sindh during the weekend.
Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 28-31°C on Saturday and 30-32°C on Sunday.
Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34-36°C on Saturday and Sunday.
Meanwhile, rains occurred in Karachi and Lower Sindh during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the province.

Dadu remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Nawabshah was recorded at 43°C, and Mohenjo-Daro at 42°C.
In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 82 per cent.
In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 78 per cent.
