Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq voiced serious concerns regarding the future trajectory of democracy in Pakistan. He urged a national dialogue among political stakeholders to establish a transparent election mechanism, emphasizing the need for reforms.

Sirajul Haq expressed these words while talking to the reporters at Mansoorah in Lahore on Thursday. Before the press talk, he presided over the session of the JI’s Majlise Aamal.

The JI Emir highlighted the discussions that took place within the JI’s Working Committee, which unanimously labeled the Election 2024 as rigged and controversial. Haq vowed to expose these irregularities through democratic means.

The JI already initiated the efforts to convene a national dialogue aimed at safeguarding democracy. They recently hosted a session involving observers and members of civil society to discuss this pressing issue.

Haq stressed the importance of announcing election results based on Form 45, asserting that any government formed on a fraudulent mandate would be incapable of addressing the country’s challenges. He criticized electoral institutions for failing to meet the nation’s expectations of impartiality.

Sirajul Haq called for the resignation of the chief election commissioner, citing a failure to protect the democratic rights of the Pakistani people. He demanded a transparent audit of the 2024 elections through an independent judicial commission inclusive of political party representations.

Highlighting alleged electoral malpractices, Haq asserted that the JI’s mandate was stolen in Karachi, with tampered results reported in other parts of the country. He reiterated the party’s commitment to never remaining silent in the face of stolen public mandates.

Furthermore, Haq urged the government to provide emergency relief to the rain-affected people of Gwadar, highlighting the immediate humanitarian needs of the region.
