On November 28, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) distributed cheques worth Rs 60 million among the employees of Model Town, settling dues that had been pending since 2019. The ceremony, marked by grace and enthusiasm, was attended by JI Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan, who was the chief guest, along with JI district chief Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf, MPA Muhammad Farooq, and Town Chairman Zafar Ahmed Khan, who also addressed the gathering. Monem Zafar, in his address, emphasized JI’s commitment to serving the people with honesty and integrity, stressing that the party’s leaders have been tirelessly working to deliver results rather than simply complaining.

He also announced that JI plans to transform all nine towns in Karachi into model towns, urging other localities to adopt this approach.

Zafar praised the efforts of the Model Town administration, especially the town chairman and his team, for resolving the dues of 21 departments. Highlighting JI’s achievements, Zafar pointed out that, since the transfer of powers to the town chairmen on November 1, 2023, the party has successfully restored over 120 parks, reopened 33 schools, installed 40,000 street lights, and launched various sports complexes and other facilities. Additionally, the JI administration has worked diligently to address the concerns of government employees.

Zafar criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government, which, according to reports, is considering appointing an administrator and removing one of its town chairmen.
