Japanese people remain ahead of many countries as the residents of island nation have strong work ethic and culture that values dedication, diligence, and commitment. Amid a shortage of young force, the country has been increasingly relying on foreign workers to address its labor shortages.
Lately, Japan is coming up with new policies to attract foreign talent, particularly in industries facing acute shortages. To deal with the situation, the Japanese government has made changes in visa rules to allow more international students to find employment in the country.
Tokyo made tweaks in its visa rules to make it easier for international students to find employment in Japan, in light of requests from several businesses and academic communities.
As per the new regulations, students who have completed their studies at state-designated technical schools can work in several professions. In previous years, international students used to return to their homeland despite having technical and Japanese-language skills from technical schools because they could not find jobs aligned with their studies.
The Japanese government is now making changes in the eligibility criteria for the designated activities visa, allowing students with advanced Japanese skills and educational achievements similar to a bachelor’s degree to remain there and work.
Japan’s New Visa Policy is touted to attract a number of international students.
A survey also revealed that students registered at Japanese technical schools wanted to stay and work within the country.
