ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is all set for Jalsa in Islamabad’s outskirt while the capital city administration is taking a stern approach to deal with Imran Khan’s party members.

Islamabad’s district administration has decided to block the key entry and exit points in federal capital. It was reported that containers will be placed on several highways to seal access to capital. Containers have already been positioned along Murree Road near Faizabad Exchange.

PTI leaders and workers from across Pakistan are heading to rally and will be required to use the routes designated by the district administration. Khan’s party leaders affirmed that the rally will proceed as planned, despite the roadblocks.

Khan’s party received permission from capital district administration to hold a public rally on September 8 at a venue near Sangjani, the outskirts of the federal capital. The event will take place on a 350-kanal compound controlled by the military.

PTI rally is expected to be large, with a separate area designated for women. Organizers are required to follow strict guidelines, including ensuring no disruptions to public roads, providing a list of attendees to police, and preventing violence or anti-state speeches. Law enforcement will oversee security, and the event must conclude by 7 p.m.

Several entourages of party loyalists from Sindh, KP and Punjab are underway and are expected to land in Islamabad tonight.

PTI had previously attempted to hold rallies but was repeatedly denied permission due to various reasons. The September 8 rally was rescheduled after an earlier planned event in August was cancelled at the last minute.
