Islamabad, Rawalpindi weather update; more intermittent rains predicted

ISLAMABAD – More intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Thursday night and Friday.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave prevails over Pakistan’s upper and central parts.

Under these weather conditions, more rain-wind/thunderstorms are predicted in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and at isolated places in Punjab, upper Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, northeast Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Thursday night and Friday. Gusty/dust-raising winds are likely in country’s plains during evening/night.

Islamabad’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 37-39°C on Friday and 38-40°C on Saturday.

Rawalpindi’s maximum temperatures will likely stay between 35-37°C on Friday and 38-40°C on Saturday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred in the twin cities and at isolated places in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the last 24 hours. Hot and dry weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Balakot 10, Dir (upper 05, lower 01), Peshawar (City, AP 03), Buner, Kalam, Dera Ismail Khan, Bacha Khan AP, Saidu Shaif 02, Pattan, Drosh 01

Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 44°C. Maximum temperature in Turbat, Khairpur, Dadu, Sakrand and Shaheed Benazirabad was recorded at 43°C.

In Islamabad, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 34 per cent.

In Rawalpindi, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 64 per cent.
