ISLAMABAD – Rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Saturday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan. A shallow westerly wave will likely approach upper parts tonight.
Under these conditions, cloudy weather with light rain-wind/thunderstorm and light snowfall over mountains is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday night. Smog/fog (in patches) is likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.
On Saturday, cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm and light snowfall over mountains is expected at isolated places in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Potohar region and Kashmir. Smog/fog (in patches) is likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during morning/night hours.
Islamabad’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 05-07°C on Saturday and 06-08°C on Sunday.
Rawalpindi’s minimum temperature will likely remain between 09-11°C on Saturday and 10-12°C on Sunday.
Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed over most parts of the country, while cold in hilly areas during the last 24 hours. Smoggy/foggy conditions persisted in patches in plain areas of Punjab & upper Sindh.
Leh remained the coldest place in the country where the temperature dropped 06°C below the freezing point.
In Islamabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 06°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 73 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, minimum temperature was recorded at 10°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 40 per cent.
