ISLAMABAD – More monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and parts of Pakistan on Sunday night, Monday and Tuesday with occasional gaps.
Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), moderate monsoon currents from the Bay of Bengal penetrate the upper/eastern parts of Pakistan. They will likely spread to central/southern parts of the country from July 29.
Under these conditions, more monsoon rains and gusty winds are expected in the twin cities, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, upper/central Punjab and Islamabad on Sunday night and the next two days with occasional gaps. Rains and gusty winds are also expected in south Punjab, Sindh and northeast/south Balochistan during the period. Heavy falls may also occur in Kashmir, northeast/southern Punjab, Sindh, northeast Balochistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Islamabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Monday and Tuesday.
Rawalpindi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 34-36°C on Monday and 36-38°C on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, rain-wind/thundershowers with isolated heavy falls occurred in the twin cities, upper/central Punjab, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and northeast Balochistan during the last 24 hours. Hot and humid weather prevailed elsewhere in the country.

Nokkundi remained the hottest place in the country where the maximum temperature was recorded at 48°C. Maximum temperature in Dalbandin was recorded at 47°C, and Chilas, Panjgur and Sibbi at 45°C.
In Islamabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 33°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 96 per cent.
In Rawalpindi, maximum temperature was recorded at 32°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 92 per cent.
