ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the state-of-the-art Immigration and Passport Office in Islamabad.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he announced establishment of passport counters at NADRA offices in different cities of the country.
The minister said these counters will be set within next five to seven days and will work round the clock to facilitate the people at their doorsteps.
He said the Islamabad passport office will be shifted to 24 hours in order to facilitate citizens and announced establishing model passports centers in Lahore and provincial capitals.
He said that NESPAK will be tasked with designing these centers. He said passports and identity cards are being issued on time as there is no more backlog.
Naqvi said that the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is carrying out a crackdown on the mafia outside the passport office. He said that the crackdown must continue and the mafia must be eliminated.
He stressed the importance of coordination between the FIA and public to eliminate the mafia outside the passport office.
