Islamabad announces nine school holidays for Elections 2024

ISLAMABAD – The interim federal government has announced nine-day election holidays in all schools, colleges and higher educational institutions in Islamabad for general elections 2024.

Following the announcement of Punjab and Sindh, the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training said schools will remain closed from February 6 to 9 for general elections.

“In view of the upcoming general elections 2024 to be held in Pakistan on February 8, 2024, It has been decided to declare public holidays from February 6 to 9,” a notification shared by capital administration said.

Islamabad Schools Holidays

Schools in Islamabad and parts of the country will observe prolonged holidays as Feb 3-4 are weekend days, followed by Kashmir Day on February 5. From 6-9 Jan, Elections will be held in Pakistan and schools will remain close for another weekend.

After nine-day closure, schools will reopen on February 12. During this period, all private and government schools will remain closed for educational activities.
