Iqra University hosts national entrepreneurship challenge 2021

Iqra University (IU), in collaboration with Akhuwat Foundation, held the National Entrepreneurship Challenge 2021 on Friday at its main campus in Karachi.

The event attracted one hundred and fifteen teams from over fifty universities across Pakistan.

The budding entrepreneurs took part in three rounds of competition before the winner was declared.

With a one-million-rupee prize for the winning team, the competition is an annual event designed to promote Pakistan’s budding entrepreneurs and find the start-ups businesses of tomorrow.

Majyd Aziz Balagamwala, President, South Asian Entrepreneurs Forum, ILO, and Chief Guest at the event, inspired the assembled students with a speech about his learnings as a businessman and entrepreneur

“Remember things which others can’t do – Pakistanis can do it. So, we should always have faith in ourselves”, Balagamwala concluded at the end of his speech.

Hunaid Lakhani, the Founding Chancellor of Iqra University, welcomed the participants and Chief Guest in his address, reminding the audience about the Iqra University’s aim and mission to facilitate students’ dreams and ideas.

“Here at Iqra University, we realise the hypercompetitive nature of the modern business environment.

That is why we hold the National Entrepreneurship Challenge every year so that young, aspiring entrepreneurs across the country can interact and network with their peers at a platform that teaches them the practicalities of the business world.

The competition offers an opportunity for the participants to turn their big ideas into successful businesses,” said Hunaid Lakhani.

Other dignitaries from the FPCCI and Chamber of Commerce also attended the event as keynote speakers.
