LAHORE – Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari on Wednesday said that for the first time in Punjab, the internet and mobile services are fully operational during Muharram.
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said that fool-proof security arrangements have been made for Majalis and processions across the province.
The special monitoring cells have been established to monitor all major processions, and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz herself is overseeing the Muharram processions.
She said that the police and other security agencies are responsible for the security of Majalis and processions.
For the first time, Punjab Chief Minister arranged for free meals and drinks (Niaz and Sabeel) at the government level during the processions of Muharram.
Azma Bukhari said that the incident of Karbala thought them patience, perseverance and tolerance.
The grandson of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Imam Hussain R.A and his loyal followers in Karbala are role models for the whole world.
“Today, the light of Islam shines in every corner of the world because of the great martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain R.A,” said Azma.
She said that Imam Hussain’s teachings are a beacon for the humanity.
The great sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala made Islam eternal. The role of Hazrat Zainab (S.A.) in Karbala is also a beacon for women.
Azma Bukhari further said that the loyalty of Hazrat Ghazi Abbas to Imam Hussain (R.A.) would remain exemplary forever.
Hussainiyat would always be a source of pride for humanity, while Yazidiyat would always be condemned.
