The PML-N candidates’ sweeps both national assembly seats while independent candidates under PTI umbrella dominate on the provincial assembly seats as three out of five constituencies of the district.
According to the results announced by returning officer (RO), the national assembly constituency, NA-49, Attock-I, the PML-N candidate former federal Minister Sheikh Aftab Ahmed was elected by securing 119727 votes while PTI leader and former member national assembly Major (retd) Tahir Sadiq who contested as independent candidate could not retain his seat and clinched 110230 votes.
