ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has submitted an ap`plication for the position of Chancellor of England’s Oxford University for the year 2024.
The development was confirmed by PTI leader Zulfi Bukhari in a social media post, stating that the application has been submitted following instruction from Khan, who has been detained in jail in several cases for a year.
Bukhari hoped that everyone will support the PTI founder for this historic campaign. Previously, Imran Khan served as the Chancellor of the University of Bradford from 2005 to 2014.
Imran Khan, a former captain of the Pakistan cricket team, is an alumnus of Oxford University. However, he is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail on charges of corruption and other cases, and has filed for bail.
Imran Khan claims that all the cases against him are false and politically motivated.
In April 2022, Imran Khan was removed from the office of prime minister through a vote of no-confidence, becoming the first Prime Minister in Pakistan’s history to be ousted from office through such a vote.
