Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf’s Founder Chairman Imran Khan on Monday confessed that he had postponed his party’s August 22 rally in Islamabad at the request of the Establishment.
“Azam Swati came to my jail cell at 07:00 a.m. that day and said that he has been sent by the Establishment. He said they requested to postpone the rally,” he told media inside Adyala Jail.
On August 22, Swati was quoted by media as having been directed by Khan to postpone the PTI rally scheduled for that day. There were, however, speculations in media circles as to what had prompted Swati to rush to Adyala Jail so early in the morning.
“The Establishment had argued that, on one hand, was the cricket match in progress while, on the other, religious parties were staging protest in the federal capital that day.
