Punjab IG Police Inam Ghani sent a legal notice of Rs 500 million to former Additional IG Zulfiqar Cheema for misconduct and allegations on various forums. After the appointment of IG Inam Ghani, Zulfiqar Cheema had leveled serious allegations against Inam of being involved in human trafficking and obstruction of his departmental promotion.
Omar Riaz Law Associates has sent a legal notice of Rs500 million on Zulfiqar Cheema for damaging his reputation at his home address and said that Inam Ghani has been appointed to the most important post in Punjab. And attempts have been made to harm his reputation by Zulfiqar Cheema. The legal notice further demanded that Mr. Cheema should apologize for his malicious campaign otherwise further legal action will be taken. Earlier, former Punjab IG Zulfiqar Cheema while disclosing the current IG Punjab Inam Ghani said that he has been involved in human trafficking.
Former Punjab IG said that when the current IGP Inam Ghani was the director of FIA immigration, the incidents of human trafficking had increased. Following a complaint from the British High Commission, the FIA assigned the investigation to the police.
According to Zulfiqar Cheema, the committee formed to investigate human trafficking was headed by Captain Shoaib, who was a very honest and courageous officer.
A committee headed by him convicted Inam Ghani, after which his promotion was suspended for two years. The former Punjab IG said that Captain Shoaib later met the present Prime Minister Imran Khan and told him all the facts about Inam Ghani. The Prime Minister picked up the intercom and said to Azam Khan, “Where is this Inam Ghani? He should not be in the service, it is a disgrace to the country.”
