Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan has demanded trial of Nawaz Sharif under treason charges for revealing national secrets by talking publicly about cruise missiles technology.
“Through the statement, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has committed a crime by uncovering important national secrets.”
He said that Nawaz Sharif has gone beyond the bounds of hatred and resentment against the country, the nation and state institutions. “The three-time Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken an oath to protect the country’s secrets but he preferred personal interest by undermining national interest.
He should be held accountable for this grave crime.”
Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that Sharif family is incapable of thinking anything except their vested interest. Nawaz Sharif due to his lack of understanding has always been a cause of humiliation for Pakistan at the international level and Pakistani people reject Sharif family’s anti-national agenda.
On the other hand, Dr. Shahbaz Gul, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, tweeted that Mian Mafroor has broken his oath and was damaging Pakistan’s defense and dignity by making public the information he had as Prime Minister. “There should be a trial of fugitives as what else is called treason?
Different ruling party leaders have condemned the Nawaz Sharif talks about Cruise Missile technology and have termed the revelation as treason with the country.
They said that it seems Nawaz has fallen into the hands of anti-Pakistan elements who want to exploit his craving for rule for their vested interest.
They regretted that everyone be that a leader or layman should always keep the national interest above everything and avoid anything that could bring harm to nation or country in any manner.
They demanded the government to take stern action against Nawaz Sharif who is already leaving a fugitive life in London.
