The Counter-Terrorism Department, Swat, Friday claimed to have gunned down a most wanted terrorist in an Intelligence Based Operation conducted in Swat. The killed terrorist, as the officials said, was involved in killing of two police constables in June 2023 and was an active member of TTP swat.
According to officials the CTD staff carried out an intelligence based operation in Swat on the credible information and chased a car as shootout between the terrorists and the law enforcers ensued, in which terrorist Naik Muhammad alias Niko was killed.
According to CTD, the killed terrorist was involved in multiple heinous crimes and the killing of Police constables Ashraf Ali and Omara Khan in June, 2023, in People’s Chowk, Mingora City, Swat. Besides, he had also been an active member of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat.
“The Counter-Terrorism Department received confidential information about the presence of Naik Muhammad alias Niko, son of Muhammad Qayum, residing in Usmanabad, Mingora, Swat”. The officials said adding act ing swiftly the CTD Malakand Range operation team initiated an intelligence-based operation.
During the operation, a white VXR car with a suspicious person was intercepted. When the person was asked to get off the vehicle, he started firing at the police personnel that followed a shootout between the forces and the militant who was gunned down. The police personnel, however, remained unharmed. The CTD officials said.
