In its monthly meeting the Hamdard Majlis-e-Shoora called upon the Muslim rulers to adhere to the values of justice, uprightness and accountability in the light of the life and teachings of the Prophet (Peace be upon him). The subject for the monthly meeting was “The Guiding Principles for the Muslim Rulers in the light of Seerat-un-Nabi (SAW).” The guest speaker was the Research Officer of the Council for Islamic Ideology (CII) Dr Ashfaq Ahmed.

He was of the view that the rulers in the Muslim world could lead the country out of the current crisis-like situation by following the great role model set by Hazrat Mohammad Peace Be Upon Him and his ideals.

While appreciating the Hamdar Majlis-e-Shoora for holding the monthly meeting on an important topic, Dr Ashfaq said the Islamic way of ruling was always marked by justice, accountability, uprightness, mercy and Taqwa or Piety. These were also the guiding principles during the successive governments of Khulafa-e-Rashideen, he said. However, gradually the rulers drifted away from that path and signs of decadence started emerging in their respective societies. As a result, today we see the Muslim world is hit by economic, social, political and moral crises and the rulers have no way to come out of this jeopardy, he said. Prof Niaz Irfan also addressed the participants and said in a true Islamic society there is no concept of selective justice and everyone is treated equally as per law.
