ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said on Thursday that the consultation process about the appointment of the director-general of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has been completed and final decision in this regard will soon be announced.
He was talking to the media after the PTI’s parliamentary party meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The premier told the participants that both civil and military leadership is on the same page and there is no misunderstanding between them.
He credited Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa for ideal civil-military ties by always supporting the democratic government.
The premier, he said, also took the lawmakers into confidence over the situation in Afghanistan. He said Pakistan believes that Afghanistan badly needs humanitarian assistance at this critical juncture. He said Pakistan has made visa requirements easy for Afghan citizens; besides, enhancing trade with Afghanistan, the state broadcaster reported.
The parliamentary party also discussed the issue of inflation in the country. He said it was told that rise in international pricing of various commodities is the main reason behind growing inflation in Pakistan.
Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the Prime Minister also directed PTI members to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi in a befitting manner.
