While suggesting reserved seats for special persons in National and Provincial Assemblies, Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar has said that Special Education Policy is being introduced in Punjab for the first time. Dr. Yasmin Rashid is looking into the issues of young doctors and soon all matters will be settled down. Federal and Punjab govts are fully alert for controlling Corona Virus and ready to cope with any unwanted situation in this regard.
He was addressing a seminar ‘Mazoori Nahi; Qabliyat’ (Ability: Not Disability) organised by Special Education Department at Alhamra Hall Lahore.
On this occasion, Provincial Special Education Minister Chaudhry Akhlaq Ahmed, Secretary Special Education Syed Javed Iqbal Bokhari, Akhuwat Organization’s CEO Dr. Amjad Saqib, Dr. Shaheen Pasha, Dr Humera Bano from Punjab University and others were also present.
Talking to media on this occasion, Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar said that China has deeper relations with Pakistan and many Chinese are working in Lahore and other cities.
As for as the young doctors’ protests and taking to streets is concerned, he said, Dr. Yasmin Rashid will resolve their issues at the earliest.
Addressing the seminar, Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar said that today, more than 300 institutions are established for special children across Punjab including Lahore, where more than 35,000 male and female students are receiving education and training, while they are also being provided with free of cost education, books and transport facility as well as monthly scholarship of Rs 800.
He added it is a good omen that biometric system has been introduced for staffers in all institutions of Special Education. He said that civilized societies never ignore their disabled persons and strive for securing their rights to the maximum. In Pakistan, participation of disabled person in political matters at levels is indispensable to make them economically sound. Soon legislation regarding reserved seats for special persons in the assemblies will be made and all other facilitation measures will be taken for them.
Governor House’s doors are opened for the disabled persons round the clock and we welcome them warmly. Addressing a seminar, Provincial Special Education Minister Ch Akhlaq Ahmed said that they are not the disabled but unique persons for whom Punjab government allocated Rs 1000 million in the current fiscal year and this allocation will be doubled (Rs 2000 million) in the next budget and it is hoped these funds will be approved in the budget.
