Taking notice of PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal question regarding approval of sports related projects in Badin, Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Dr. Fehmida Mirza on Monday told the National Assembly that the government has decided to establish sports facilities in backward areas.
Why Ahsan Iqbal raised this issue in several committees that Sports Minister Fehminda Mirza will confront litigation in future while approving some projects for her constituency district Badin, Sindh.
She questioned that why Ahsan Iqbal construct Sports Complex in Norwal, which is border areas.
“He should not raise such issue as it was right of people across the country to have some sports facilities at their door steps
She claimed that the government is taking appropriate steps to improve sports governance structure in the country and performance of athletes.
Responding to a question during the Question Hour in the House, Dr. Fehmida Mirza said that lack of sports governance structure is affecting the future of children in sports sector.
She said National Sports Policy is being devised to promote sports at the grassroot level and prepare a new talent for international events.
She said the government is also making playgrounds at Tehsil level to provide a better playing facility to youth.
Responding to another question, Parliamentary Secretary of Interior Shaukat Ali said a special directorate of sanitation and water supply is working in the Capital Development Authority to ensure cleanliness in Islamabad.
He also stressed for creation of awareness among general public for cleanness of Park and other parts of the country.
