Opens renal transplantation center, labour room at Jinnah Hospital
Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid inaugurated the Renal Transplantation Center and new Labour Room at Jinnah Hospital here on Friday.
Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Arif Tajammul, Medical Superintendent Jinnah Hospital Dr. Yahya Sultan, representative of Sheikh Ejaz Trust and a large number of doctors were present on the on the occasion. The health minister visited Dialysis Center and Labour room and enquired from patients about the quality of services being provided to them.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that she was grateful to Friends of Jinnah Hospital for opening the Renal Transplantation Center. “We are working to provide top-quality healthcare services as per the vision of Prime Minister Khan. Despite a lot of difficulties, we are working to provide as much of facilities as possible”, she claimed, adding that when the PTI came to power, the provincial government was under a debt of around Rs100 billion and there were pending liabilities to the tune of Rs32 billion.
The minister said that despite all these odd, the government promised to develop nine mega hospitals and work is underway currently at four of them. Referring to Nishter-2, the health minister said that in Multan, a hospital of this scale is being built in four decades. The PC-1s of five Mother and Child Hospital have been approved. We are using taxpayers money judiciously and we are also completing all incomplete projects of the previous government. It is for the first time that 32,000 hirings of healthcare professionals have been made on merit. Sehat Insaf cards have been distributed to 5.2 families in 36 districts of Punjab. Our doctors, nurses and paramedical staff have rendered exemplary services during the Coronavirus Pandemic.” She also expressed gratitude to Gohar Ejaz for facilitating patients at Jinnah Hospital.
Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Prof Arif Tajammul thanked the Health Minister and said that she has always provided exceptional services for patients. He said Dr Yasmin Rashid encouraged her juniors and played mentoring role very well.
Meanwhile, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid chaired a high-level meeting to review the performance of Rawalpindi Institute of Urology, Midwifery and Nursing Postgraduate Institute and Dental College Program and its Curriculum at the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department here on Friday.
Present in the meeting were Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Barrister Nabeel Awan, Special Secretary Silwat Saeed, Additional Secretary Development Dr. Asif Tufail, Vice Chancellor Rawalpindi Medical University Professor Dr. Umar, Medial Superintendent Institute of Urology Dr. Khalid Randhawa, Vice-Chancellor Fatima Jinnah Medical University Professor Amir Zaman Khan and other senior officials.
