Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi has said that he will talk to the Prime Minister to bring the merged districts into the stream of development and to solve the problems faced by the people of the merged districts. Talking to a 27-member delegation of the Tribal Youth Movement at the Governor’s House on Saturday, Governor said the issue can be resolved only by discussing the matter in the forums related to the federation. I am trying not to increase the distance between the federation and the province because rhetoric with the federation will harm the people of the province and the province, the tribal people.
The participants informed the governor about their concerns regarding not giving special quota for tribal students in certain universities across the country . On this occasion, the governor said that he has invited the provincial government to be ready to fight the case with the federation for the rights of the entire province including the merged districts so that not only the merged districts but also the people of the province can get facilities and benefits, the provincial government should take the problems seriously.
We have to talk with the federation for a solution. He said that a special quota has been fixed for the merged districts in the NFC award so that the backwardness can be removed there. He said that during the war against terrorism, the province was given 1 percent extra in NFC, but it is not known where the provincial government spent that money. Regarding the tax, the governor said that he will keep the concerns of the tribal people before the prime minister and expressed the expectation that the tribal youth will play a role in the development of the province including the annexed districts.
