KARACHI – The price of gold moved up to Rs265,900, a record high, in Pakistan on Friday amid big surge in global markets.
Data shared by Sarafa association shows bullion witnessed significant increase, with price of 24 karat gold moved up to Rs.2,900, reaching Rs.265,900. Meanwhile, price of 10 grams climbed to Rs227,966.

Silver prices also saw a rise, with the per tola price increasing by Rs.50 to Rs.2,950. The price for 10 grams of silver went up by Rs.42.86 to Rs.2,529.14.
In international market, gold witnessed jump of $51, with the price hovering around $2,566.
Gold rates are influenced by international gold prices, exchange rate between the local currency, local supply and demand, and market conditions. Local organisations like All Pakistan Jewellers Manufacturers Association and the Karachi Saraf and Gold Dealers Association set daily prices, which are also affected by government taxes and import duties.
