Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani has declared the Malir Expressway a gift from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) to the citizens of Karachi.
The first phase of the expressway is set to be inaugurated in the coming days by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. During a detailed visit to the completed first phase of the Malir Expressway on Tuesday, Saeed Ghani was accompanied by Sindh Chief Minister’s Special Assistant for Investment and Public-Private Partnerships Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Additional Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Khalid Hyder Shah, Project Director Malir Expressway Niaz Soomro, and other officials.
The provincial minister and his team inspected the starting and ending points of the first phase, as well as the connecting link roads. They also reviewed the toll plaza and its installed machinery. Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani highlighted that the Malir Expressway spans 38 kilometers and will eventually connect Qayyumabad to Kathore.
Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani noted that the first phase, which runs from Qayyumabad to Shah Faisal Colony, has been completed, with work on the toll plaza in its final stages.
Once completed, the expressway will be officially opened to the public. The minister emphasized the expressway’s potential to provide citizens with a smooth and uninterrupted travel experience while also benefiting traders and industrialists.
Local Government Minister Saeed Ghani added that the Malir Expressway will serve as a milestone in improving Karachi’s infrastructure and connectivity.
