ISLAMABAD – The Director General (DG) of Immigration and Passport has announced the establishment of a special desk for Hajj pilgrims, under which they will be able to obtain their passports within just 24 hours.

DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi said special desks will be set up at all regional offices, including the headquarters, and this facility will also be available at passport offices around the world.

The DG stated that pilgrims will be given priority at the special counters, adding that the delivery of passports will be ensured within 24 hours.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has announced an installment plan for payment of Hajj cost under the government scheme.

For a state-run scheme, there will be two types of packages: one package of 38 to 42 days, and Short Package, which will span 20 to 25 days. The expected cost for the government scheme in 2025 will range from Rs1,075,000 to Rs1,175,000. Additionally, a sacrificial animal will cost PKR 55,000, while accommodation in Makkah will require an extra fee of Rs 220,000 for a double-bed room and Rs75,000 for a triple-bed room.

Regarding the payment process, minister outlined that first installment of Rs200,000 must be paid along with the Hajj application. Within 10 days of the lottery result, applicants must submit Rs400,000. The remaining balance will be due between February 1 and 10, 2025.
